With my sculptures I take rigid, human-made steel, and utilize the material in a way that gives a sense of the natural environment through the movement of organic life. The sculpture, “Forged Boundaries” shows how humans attempt to use force to control the environment, and at the same time deceive themselves about the consequences.
Made with metal forming, machining, welding, and plasma cutting. Materials include steel and glass. Sculpture size is approximately 12 ft x 5 ft.

ProcessI use welding, machining, forging, and forming in my sculpture and metal art work. The goal of all my metal work is to encourage a sense of movement in my art, both from an organic perspective as well as from engineering actual motion from the environment. I like the dissonance of making organic forms that have a sense of movement from material that is hard and unmoving. Archives
